Blessing of change

Bless this day and all who live it
open my eyes to ways of helping
give my heart over to my humanity
connect my spirit and my powers
spur my best self into action

I bless this day and all who live it
touching one heart spreads joy
sharing freely expands my heart
listening to others opens my mind
respecting others fuels my hope

I belss this day and all who live it
in small ways I am growing wise
in quiet ways I am learning now
in openness my spirit grows strong
in sharing, my life makes sense

I bless this day and all who live it
the essence in you is my essence
knowing our similarities frees me
feeling the sameness at our cores
unites us all as family of billions

I bless this day and all who live it
I reach out in kindness and spirit
you may learn to reach back in time
if I keep true and strong to being
the change I want to see in the world

Bless this day and all who live it

Alternative Lord's Prayer

Eternal Spirit, Earth-maker, Pain-bearer, Life-giver,
Source of all that is and that shall be,
Father and Mother of us all,
Loving God, in whom is heaven:
The hallowing of your name echo through the universe!
The way of your justice be folowed by the peoples of the world!
Your heavenly will be done by all created beings!
Your commonwealth of peace and freedom
sustain our hope and come on earth.
With the bread we need for today, feed us.
In the hurts we absorb from one another, forgive us.
In times of temptation and test, strengthen us.
From trials too great to endure, spare us.
From the grip of all that is evil, free us.
For you reign in the glory of the power that is love,
now and for ever.
Amen

Friendship

You have blessed us, O Lady,
with the gift of friendship,
the bonding of persons
in a circle of love.

We thank you for such a blessing:
for friends who love us,
who share our sorrows,
who laugh with us in celebration,
who bear our pain,
who need us as we need them,
who weep as we weep,
who hold us when words fail,
and who give us the freedom
to be ourselves.

Bless our friends with health,
wholeness, life and love

Being

This day
this hour
this moment
I breathe in life's
eternal energies
my atoms mingle
with all creation

This day
this hour
this moment
I eat other life
sun filled energy
nourishing my atoms
with the life forces
of another that lived
plant, animal, fish, foul
life that was, feeds me now

This day
this hour this moment
I spend my life
energy held, leaves
my atoms flow outward
mingling with all creation
I am in all and all is in me
Bless all life
so mote it be

Blessing over bread

Mother of Plenty, bless this bread
Father of the Grain, lend your seed
Let it nourish heart and head
Let it nourish thought and deed
Let its breaking be a spell
Theat hungry mouth be fed as well
And let its eating keep us free
As is our will
So mote it be

To the Four Directions

To the Four Directions

Spirit of the East, spirit of air,
Of morning and springtime:
Be with us as the sun rises,
In time of beginning,
Times of planting,
Inspire us with the fresh breath of courage
As we go forth into new adventures.

Spirit of the south, spirit of fire,
Of noontime and summer:
Be with us through the heat of the day
And help us to be ever growing,
Warm us with strength
And energy for the work that awaits us.

Spirit of the West, spirit of water,
Of evening and autumn,
Be with us as the sun sets
And help us to enjoy a rich harvest.
Flow through us with a cooling,
Healing quietness and bring us peace.

Spirit of the North, spirit of earth,
Of nighttime and winter:
Be with us in the darkness,
In the time of gestation.
Ground us in the wisdom
of the changing seasons
As we celebrate the spiraling
Journey of our lives.

Psalm 63 - adapted

O Goddess, for you my soul is thirsting.

I long for you
like dry, weary land
without water.

Give me you strength and glory.

I wish to praise you all my life.

Hold me close in your hands

Prayer for Aten by Pharaoh Akhenaten

I shall breathe
the sweet breath
Which comes forth from Thy mouth.
I shall behold
Thy beauty everyday.
It is my desire that I may hear
Thy sweet voice,
Like the North Wind,
That my limbs may be quickened with life
Through love of Thee.
Give me Thy hands,
Holding Thy spirit,
That I may receive it,
And may live by it.
Call Thou upon my name throughout eternity,
And it shall never fail.

To the dawn

Listen to the salutation to the dawn.

Look to this day for it is life,
the very life of life.

In it's brief course lie all the verities and
realities of our existance.

The bliss of growth,
the splendor of beauty.

For yesterday is but a dream
and tomorrow is only a vision.

But today well spent
makes every yesterday a dream of happiness
and every tomorrow a vision of hope.

Look well therefore to this day.

Such is the salutation to the dawn.

Harmony with all living things

Oh Goddess,
grant us a deeper sense of fellowship
with all living things
and our brothers and sisters
to whom you have given this earth as home.

May we realize that all these creatures
also live for themselves and for you.

They too love the goodness of life,
as we do,
and serve you better in their way
than we do in ours

deep relief

Deep relief, that's what I know I'm needing,
Sweet release from all I've locked inside.
A full reprieve from all my fears and worry.
I long to feel the part, where love expands my heart
And I no longer need a place to hide.

Move in slow, so I can hear your breathing.
Take my hand so I can know your touch.
Just to be inside this silent stillness---
My heart has no defense to offer up against
The endless ache of opening this much.

If you know what is happening to me,
Hold me close, we can let our spirits free.
Have you been beyond the other side of hope,
Where everything that's possible can be?

I'm on fire, you see it in my face,
I'm alive with the splendor and the grace.
You are welcome to join me in this space
And journey on the quest, to love our very best
And live within this intimate embrace.

Prayer for peace

Mother of men and peoples,
you know all their sufferings
and their hopes.
You feel in a motherly way
all the struggles between good and evil,
between the light and the darkness
which shakes the world

Accept our cry
directly to your heart.
And embrace with the love of the Mother
the peoples who await this
embrace the most.

Take under your motherly protection
the whole human family
May the time of peace and freedom,
the time of truth,
justice and hope,
approach for everyone.

This is part of a prayer written by the last pope.
Just left out some words and sentences

Prayer for help

O Goddess, send forth your Spirit
into my heart that I may percieve,

Prayer at time of misfortune

I think over again my small adventures and my fears.

Those small ones that seemed so big,
for all the vital things I had to get and reach.

And yet there is only one great thing,
the only thing:

To live to see the great day that dawns,
and the light that fills the world.

Blessing for caregivers

May the one who blessed our ancestors be present
to those who provide help for the ill and troubled among us.

May they be filled with fortitude and courage,
and endowed with sympathy and compassion,
as they give strenght to those at their side.

May they fight against despair,
and continue to find within themselves
the will to reach out to those in need.

And in their love of others,
may they know the blessing of community,
and the blessing of renewed faith.

Equal to the mountain Meru in knowledge,
Rich in many good qualities. . .

Prayer of St Ignatius ( adapted)

Dearest Lady, teach me to be generous;
Teach me to serve the as thou deserves,
to give and not to count the costs,
to fight and not to seek for rest,
to labour and not to seek reward,
save that of knowing that I do thy will.

St Ignatius of Loyola (1491 - 1556) - adapted

Giving thanks for all life

Great and Eternal Mystery of Life, Creator of all things,
I give thanks for the beauty You put in
every single one of Your creations.

I am grateful that You did not fail in making
every stone, plant, creature, and human being
a perfect and whole part of the sacred hoop.

I am grateful that You have allowed me to see
the strength and beauty of my relations.

My humble request is that all the children of Earth
will learn to see the same perfection in themselves.

May none of your human children doubt or question
Your wisdom, grace, and sense of wholeness
in giving all of Creation a right to be
living extensions of Your perfect love.

Prayer for the sick

Tend to your sick ones, O Lady.
Rest your weary ones.
Bless your dying ones.
Soothe your suffering ones.
Pity your afflicted ones.
Shield your joyous ones.
For all your love's sake

Prayer of Francis of Assisi ( adapted)

Lady,
make me an instrument of your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
Where there is injury, pardon;
Where there is doubt, faith;
Where there is despair, hope;
Where there is darkness, light;
And where there is sadness, joy.

O Divine Mistress,
grant that I may not so much seek
to be consoled as to console;
To be understood as to understand;
To be loved as to love;
For it is in giving that we recieve;
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
And it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

St Francis of Assisi ( 1181-1226 ) - adapted

Praise and thanksgiving

I thank you, O Goddess, for the pleasures you have given me through my senses.
For the glory of thunder and the mystery of music.
For the singing of birds and the laughter of children.
I thank you for the delights of colour,
the awe if sunset,
the wild roses in the hedgerows,
the smile of friendship.
I thank you for the sweetness of the flowers
and the scent of hay.
Truly, O Lady, the earth is full of your riches

Edward King 1829 -1910 ( adapted)

To the deceased

Let your eye go to the sun,
your life to the wind.

By the meritorious acts that you have done,
go to heaven, and then to earth again.

Or, resort to the waters,
if you feel at home there.
Remain in the herbs
with the bodies you propose to take.

Prayer for healing

Lady, look upon me with eyes of mercy.
May your healing hand rest upon me.

May your life-giving powers
flow into every cell of my body
restoring me to wholeness
and strength for Your service.

Prayer for diverse blessings

In mercy you have seen fit today to show me,
poor as i am, how we can in no way
pass judgement on other people's intentions.

Indeed, by sending people along an endless variety of paths,
you give me an example for myself
and for this I thank you.

Divine blessing

Almighty Lady, if we offer you a devoted mind and heart,
you will offer to us every blessing on earth and in heaven.

You grant our deepest wishes.
You give food to the body and peace to the soul.
You look upon us with the love of a mother for her children.

You created this beautful earth all around us.
And in every plant and animal, every tree and bird, your spirit dwells.

You have revealed yourself to me,
infusing my soul with the knowledge that you are the source of all blessing

And so I sing your praise day and night.
I who am feeble, glorify you who are powerful.
I who are nothing, devote myself to you, who are everything.

Charge of the Goddess - Zia's version

Listen to the words of the Great Mother

I shall be called a million names by all who speak!
I am Eternal Maiden! I am Great Mother!
I am the Old One who holds the immortal key!
I am shrouded in Mystery, but am known to every soul.

I am the beauty of green earth,
and the white moon among the stars,
and the mystery of the waters,
and the desire of the heart of man.
Call unto thy soul, arise, and come unto me.

I am the soul of nature that gives life to the universe.
From Me all things proceed and unto Me they must return.
Let My worship be in the heart that rejoices,
for behold, all acts of love and pleasure are My rituals

Let there be beauty and strength,
power and compassion,
honour and humility,
mirth and reverence within you.

You shall be free from slavery
and you shall dance, sing, and feast.
Music shall surround you,
for mine is the ecstasy of the spirit,
and mine is also the joy of the earth!

I do not demand sacrifice!
For behold, I am the Mother of all things
and My love is poured out upon the Earth

And, as does the cycle of the Moon
ever begin to wax and wane and to grow forth again,
as do the seasons
from one to the next flow in smooth rhythm,
from sowing to reaping,
to seeming death and rebirth.....
so will my children know their own pattern in both worlds!

And you who seek to know Me,
know that the seeking and yearning will avail you not,
unless you know the Mystery:
for if that which you seek,
you find not within yourself,
you will never find it without.

For behold,
I have been with you from the beginning,
and I am That which is attained at the end of desire.

I took my favorite parts from other versions of the charge and combined those into a new one.

Prayer of Becoming

This is my favourite personal prayer. I use slightly different words, but this seems to be the original version:

May clarity grow within me
Open my eyes to life's many wonders
May I feel the pulse of all creation within me
Open my spirit to Awareness
Fill my heart with deeper Understanding
May my life be of service to Earth and the Goddess
Open my ears to the needs of those around me
Make my hands strong, sure, & gentle in your service
May I remember always, the Goddess works through me

Thank you for your light
and your unconditional love.
Thank you for the gift of the feminine energy,
the gift of feeling and of intuition.

Thank you for your strenght,
always pouring out your love
no matter what.
Thank you for always being there.

Help me to open myself
to your compassion and tendernes.
Help me to bring it in to the places within me
and to be a channel for your healing.

Blessing of a new house

Dear Lady, we beseech Thee to bless and sanctify this house
and all who dwell therein
and everthing else in it.

At our entrance deign to bless and sanctify this house
and may the beings of Thy light, dweling within the walls of this house,
protect it and protect those who dwell therein.

I don't like this old language, so I put it in more simple words:

Dear Lady, please bless and sanctify this house
and all who live here
and everything else in it.

Please bless and sanctify this house as we enter it
and may Your beings of light, who live within these walls,
protect it and protect all who live here.
