Blessing of change

Bless this day and all who live it
open my eyes to ways of helping
give my heart over to my humanity
connect my spirit and my powers
spur my best self into action

I bless this day and all who live it
touching one heart spreads joy
sharing freely expands my heart
listening to others opens my mind
respecting others fuels my hope

I belss this day and all who live it
in small ways I am growing wise
in quiet ways I am learning now
in openness my spirit grows strong
in sharing, my life makes sense

I bless this day and all who live it
the essence in you is my essence
knowing our similarities frees me
feeling the sameness at our cores
unites us all as family of billions

I bless this day and all who live it
I reach out in kindness and spirit
you may learn to reach back in time
if I keep true and strong to being
the change I want to see in the world

Bless this day and all who live it

Alternative Lord's Prayer

Eternal Spirit, Earth-maker, Pain-bearer, Life-giver,
Source of all that is and that shall be,
Father and Mother of us all,
Loving God, in whom is heaven:
The hallowing of your name echo through the universe!
The way of your justice be folowed by the peoples of the world!
Your heavenly will be done by all created beings!
Your commonwealth of peace and freedom
sustain our hope and come on earth.
With the bread we need for today, feed us.
In the hurts we absorb from one another, forgive us.
In times of temptation and test, strengthen us.
From trials too great to endure, spare us.
From the grip of all that is evil, free us.
For you reign in the glory of the power that is love,
now and for ever.
Amen

Friendship

You have blessed us, O Lady,
with the gift of friendship,
the bonding of persons
in a circle of love.

We thank you for such a blessing:
for friends who love us,
who share our sorrows,
who laugh with us in celebration,
who bear our pain,
who need us as we need them,
who weep as we weep,
who hold us when words fail,
and who give us the freedom
to be ourselves.

Bless our friends with health,
wholeness, life and love

Being

This day
this hour
this moment
I breathe in life's
eternal energies
my atoms mingle
with all creation

This day
this hour
this moment
I eat other life
sun filled energy
nourishing my atoms
with the life forces
of another that lived
plant, animal, fish, foul
life that was, feeds me now

This day
this hour this moment
I spend my life
energy held, leaves
my atoms flow outward
mingling with all creation
I am in all and all is in me
Bless all life
so mote it be

Blessing over bread

Mother of Plenty, bless this bread
Father of the Grain, lend your seed
Let it nourish heart and head
Let it nourish thought and deed
Let its breaking be a spell
Theat hungry mouth be fed as well
And let its eating keep us free
As is our will
So mote it be

Great Cosmic Mother
Sacred Life Force in All Things
She Who Creates from Her Own Source
All that is, was, and shall be Mirrors Her

She Who is the Spiraling Galaxies
Alive in the Stars, immenant in All Things
Endlessly becoming, spinning Life into Being
She Who speaks to us through the Wind and the Calm

She Who is Sacred Balance
Spiral Weaver of Truth and Wisdom
Her Sacret Texts are the leaves and Grasses
Everywhere is Her Consecrated Ground

She Who, She Who is Many
The Brilliant Sparks of Her Essence

To the Four Directions

To the Four Directions

Spirit of the East, spirit of air,
Of morning and springtime:
Be with us as the sun rises,
In time of beginning,
Times of planting,
Inspire us with the fresh breath of courage
As we go forth into new adventures.

Spirit of the south, spirit of fire,
Of noontime and summer:
Be with us through the heat of the day
And help us to be ever growing,
Warm us with strength
And energy for the work that awaits us.

Spirit of the West, spirit of water,
Of evening and autumn,
Be with us as the sun sets
And help us to enjoy a rich harvest.
Flow through us with a cooling,
Healing quietness and bring us peace.

Spirit of the North, spirit of earth,
Of nighttime and winter:
Be with us in the darkness,
In the time of gestation.
Ground us in the wisdom
of the changing seasons
As we celebrate the spiraling
Journey of our lives.

Psalm 63 - adapted

O Goddess, for you my soul is thirsting.

I long for you
like dry, weary land
without water.

Give me you strength and glory.

I wish to praise you all my life.

Hold me close in your hands

Prayer for Aten by Pharaoh Akhenaten

I shall breathe
the sweet breath
Which comes forth from Thy mouth.
I shall behold
Thy beauty everyday.
It is my desire that I may hear
Thy sweet voice,
Like the North Wind,
That my limbs may be quickened with life
Through love of Thee.
Give me Thy hands,
Holding Thy spirit,
That I may receive it,
And may live by it.
Call Thou upon my name throughout eternity,
And it shall never fail.

for Aten the ancient Sun God - Pharaoh Akhenaten

To the dawn

Listen to the salutation to the dawn.

Look to this day for it is life,
the very life of life.

In it's brief course lie all the verities and
realities of our existance.

The bliss of growth,
the splendor of beauty.

For yesterday is but a dream
and tomorrow is only a vision.

But today well spent
makes every yesterday a dream of happiness
and every tomorrow a vision of hope.

Look well therefore to this day.

Such is the salutation to the dawn.

Harmony with all living things

Oh Goddess,
grant us a deeper sense of fellowship
with all living things
and our brothers and sisters
to whom you have given this earth as home.

May we realize that all these creatures
also live for themselves and for you.

They too love the goodness of life,
as we do,
and serve you better in their way
than we do in ours

St Basil of Caesarea (329 - 379) - adapted

deep relief

Deep relief, that's what I know I'm needing,
Sweet release from all I've locked inside.
A full reprieve from all my fears and worry.
I long to feel the part, where love expands my heart
And I no longer need a place to hide.

Move in slow, so I can hear your breathing.
Take my hand so I can know your touch.
Just to be inside this silent stillness---
My heart has no defense to offer up against
The endless ache of opening this much.

If you know what is happening to me,
Hold me close, we can let our spirits free.
Have you been beyond the other side of hope,
Where everything that's possible can be?

I'm on fire, you see it in my face,
I'm alive with the splendor and the grace.
You are welcome to join me in this space
And journey on the quest, to love our very best
And live within this intimate embrace.

Prayer for peace

Mother of men and peoples,
you know all their sufferings
and their hopes.
You feel in a motherly way
all the struggles between good and evil,
between the light and the darkness
which shakes the world

Accept our cry
directly to your heart.
And embrace with the love of the Mother
the peoples who await this
embrace the most.

Take under your motherly protection
the whole human family
May the time of peace and freedom,
the time of truth,
justice and hope,
approach for everyone.

This is part of a prayer written by the last pope.
Just left out some words and sentences
